Wyvonne Nunn Burden, 76, passed away November 4, 2023, at the University of MS Medical Center in Jackson after a sudden illness. A celebration of life service will be at 11 A.M. Friday, November 10, 2023, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Wright officiating. Visitation is from 10-11 prior to the service.
Wyvonne was born to Billie and Vera Holcomb Nunn in Aberdeen. She moved to Carroll County at an early age and graduated from J.Z. George High School. She worked for over 30 years in the Greenwood Public Library. She was a faithful member of First Methodist Church where she served her church in numerous capacities. She was well known for making her homemade bread and caring for the elderly and shut ins of the community.
Wyvonne is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Nunn Yates (Haggard) of Vaiden, MS; her brother, Wayne Nunn (Susan) of Columbus, MS; her nephews and nieces, Todd Yates (Diane) of French Camp, MS, Kris Yates of Purvis, MS, Tina Vance (Gage) of Oxford, MS, Tio Nunn of Columbus, MS, Jessica Nunn (Amber) of Columbus, MS, Monica Grady (David) of Columbus, MS, April Farmer (Craig) of Sumrall, MS, Heather Doty (Daniel) of Oxford, MS; great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn Yates of Purvis, MS, Naron (Haley) Yates of Chattanooga, TN, Haley Vance of Oxford, MS; great-great niece and nephew McKenzie and Beau Yates of Purvis, MS.
