Willie W. Ezell, Jr, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden, MS. Graveside services are 1 P.M. Saturday, March 14, at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton MS with Rev. David Haggarty officiating. Visitation is from 11 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.
Willie was born in Greenwood to Willie and Grace Ezell and was a lifelong resident of the Greenwood and Carrollton area. Willie served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years as the maintenance supervisor for the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was a longtime member Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and was more recently a member of Providence Baptist Church. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed family time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years, Clara Frances Hurst Ezell, and a brother Earl Ezell. He is survived by three daughters; Lindy Hurst (Bill) of Carrollton, Donna Rosamond of Canton, Susan Holly (John) of Florida; a son Robert Ezell(Iris) of McCarley; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Josh Hurst, Jake Hurst, Kris Rosamond, Shawn Sappington, Collin Hurst, and Landon Hurst.
The family wishes to offer a special word of thanks to Christy Holloway, the staff of Baptist Hospice and the staff of the Vaiden Community Center.
