Wanda Cash Obituary

Wanda Spencer Tyner Cash, 80, of Greenwood, MS died on February 15, 2024. Wanda did it her way, passing away at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cleveland, MS on November 14, 1943, to Claude A. and Ruby Mae Spencer of Rosedale, MS. Wanda attended Davis Elementary and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1961. She continued her education at Delta State University, earning her Bachelor of Education and two Master’s Degrees. Later, she went on to teach special education for 42 years at Amanda Elzy and East School, moving up to be assistant superintendent. When not working as a teacher, she spent her free time helping her mother at the family restaurant, Pasquales. An avid book reader, Wanda spent her days, after retirement in 2003, reading and spending time with her husband Jimmy (JC) Cash. She enjoyed fishing, and playing with her beloved mini poodle, Babette. In her later years, Wanda enjoyed watching her favorite football teams, The Kansas City Chiefs, and the San Francisco 49ers. Along with football, watching Judge Judy and game/talk shows, Wanda spent much time with her best friend Winnie Walker, and talking with her children.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Claude A. and Ruby Mae Spencer.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Horace Cash (JC), daughter Tammy Schifanelli (Paul), and son Billy Marrell Tyner Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Wayne Spencer of Natchez, as well as 7 nieces and nephews, including niece Jennifer Cash of Grenada, MS; and nephew Palmer Cash of Nashville, TN; one special honorary grandchild Keirin Alberg of Grenada, MS.
