Wah Sing Chow

Wah Sing Chow, 79, passed away Thursday morning, October 19, 2023, at his home in Greenwood. Funeral services will be October 29, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Visitation will be 12:00- 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Park Cemetery. 

Mr. Chow was born in China and immigrated to Hong Kong prior to coming to Greenwood MS. He had worked for How Joy restaurant in Greenville then opening his own restaurant in Starkville which he owned and operated from 1985-1990.  In 1990 he opened Wah Sing Chinese restaurant in Indianola which he operated until retiring and selling to his son, Hong Wing Chow,  in 2019.  He continued to work for the family business even after retirement.  Mr. Chow was an NBA fan and watched as many games as possible.

He is survived by his wife Fon Toy Chow; a daughter, Kin Nong Chow Hayward (Johnny) of Grenada; 3 sons, Wing Tun Chow of Greenwood, Hong Wing Chow (Elaine) of Indianola, Vanman Benson Chow (John) of Dallas, TX and four grandchildren, Katelin Hayward and Jonathan Hayward of Grenada and Christopher Chow and Evan Chow of Indianola.

Pallbearers will be Joe Dan Yee, Joe Joe Yee, Alon Chow, Jim Chow, John DeFlillipo, and Wing Wong.
