Vincent Ollie McDaniel, 62, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home in Greenwood. Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Saturday, August 10 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Butler officiating. Interment in is Moorhead cemetery. Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Vincent Ollie McDaniel was born July 29th in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and sixty-two. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, MS. Born to Walbridge Dorsey McDaniel and Nancy Isom McDaniel who preceded him in death in 2023 & 2024. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, woodworker and craftsman. He loved the outdoors and working on the family tree farm in Coila.
Vincent was a graduate of Greenwood High School in 1980, attended MS Delta Community College, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and later with a master’s degree in ag economics in 1985. Vincent worked for 30 years for Scott Petroleum as a credit manager. He was a member of St John’s Methodist church, an ambassador of the Greenwood Mentoring group and regularly attended the men’s prayer breakfast.
Vincent is survived by two sons, Paten Vincent McDaniel (Tori) of Canton, Brandon Chase Brown of Greenwood; two brothers, Keith McDaniel (Donna) of Hattiesburg, Michael McDaniel (Terri) of Greenwood; 3 grandchildren, Emily Claire McDaniel, Brayden Brown, Bryce Brown and another grandchild on the way.
He loved family more than life itself. He was a kind person and always willing to help anyone that needed it.
Pallbearers will be Rick Allen, David Floyd, Danny Leigh, Ricky Suggs, Tilldon Ingram and Bill Guion. Honorary pallbearers are member of the Lucky 13 hunting club, Ben Cox, and Jason Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
