Vennie Sue Jenkins, 88, passed away November 25, 2025, at Tyler Homes Memorial Hospital in Winona. Graveside services are 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3 at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Dustin Long is officiating. Visitation is from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service.
Vennie was born to Charlie and Edna Byram Peters in Belmont, MS and moved to Greenwood at the age of 10. She married John Lloyd Jenkins January 29, 1955, and they made their home in Greenwood. She was a make-up artist at Shirley’s beauty shop and later worked at Patsy’s Hodge Podge specializing in antiques. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, enjoyed cooking for her family and collecting antiques.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Lloyd Jenkins and 9 siblings. She is survived by three sons, David Jenkins (Linda) of Greenwood, Roger L. Jenkins (P.J.) of Pearl, MS, Tim Jenkins (Frances) of Carrollton; a brother Terry Peters of Greenville; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cole Feigler, Bailey Mangrum, Neal Mangrum, Daniel Jankins, Steve Riley, Brent Rayburn, and J. C. Jenkins.
