Vanessa Lopez

Vanessa Lopez, a dedicated medical professional and beloved daughter and sister, passed away on December 21, 2025. Born in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, Vanessa moved to Greenwood at the age of six, where she grew up and established her life and career.

A woman of focus and ambition, Vanessa earned her degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician from Mississippi Delta Community College. She was highly regarded for her commitment to her work and her desire to help others through her career in healthcare.

Vanessa’s life was defined by her devotion to her family. She is survived by her parents, Rosa Maria Simon and Jose Luis Lopez; her three brothers, Alex, Juan, and Yandel; beloved nephew, Draelen Alexander Johnson, and her maternal grandparents, Maria and Reinaldo Simon. She also leaves behind a loving extended family of aunts and uncles who will miss her dearly.

Visitation hours will be from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Greenwood, MS.

Services to honor Vanessa’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Greenwood, MS.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Alex Johnson, Juan Daniel Lopez, Victor Antonio Simon, Serafin Simon III, Danny Vargas, and Yandel L. Lopez.
