Vadie Young Jordan, 74, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at her home in Greenwood. Graveside services are 1:30 P.M. Tuesday November18, at Odd Fellows East Cemetery with Rev. Pete Roncali officiating. Visitation is from 11 A.M.- 1:00 P.M.
Vadie was born in Greenwood to Willaim Woods “Red” Young, Sr. and Dorothy Rounsaville Young. She was raised in Greenwood and graduated from Greenwood High School. She worked for over 20 years as a Department of Corrections as a Parole Officer. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was an avid Mississippi State fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also very fond of her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 50 years, Leslie Jordan. She is survived by her two sons, Bobby Jordan (Nikki) of McCarley, Ms, Andy Jordan (Stephanie) of Cordova, TN; grandchildren, Griffin Jordan of Cordova, TN, Jules Jordan of Cordova, TN, Reece Jordan of McCarley; a brother, William Woods “Buster” Young, Jr. (Fane) of West Plains, MD and a cousin, Serena Coleman of Amory, MS
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Jennings, Terry Green, Jr., Cale Ainsworth, Chad Killebrew and Landon Sims.
Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Humane Society or the Charity of Donor’s choice.
