Jonathan Tyler Kent, 24, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Montgomery County. Graveside services are 11 A.M. Friday, May 29th at Teoc Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. David Bartlett officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.
Tyler was born and raised in Carrollton and graduated from Camp Shelby School. He was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. Tyler enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud riding, and spending time with his family.
Tyler is preceded in death by his daughter Wynona Kent, maternal grandmother, Mable Tedford, paternal grandmother, Teresa Kent, and paternal grandfather Broadus Upchurch. He is survived by His wife, Elizabeth Miller of Sidon; special friend and mother of his son, Abbygail Watson of Ackerman; a daughter, Lorelai Kent of Sidon; son, Jonathan Wayne Kent of Ackerman; father, Jonathan Kent (Erica) of Grenada; Mother, Alisha Cannon(Cody Cooper) of Carrollton; maternal grandfather, Raymond Tedford of Sidon; paternal grandfather, Steve Kent of Greenwood; grandmother, Dorothy Upchurch of Teoc; step-father Marc Upchurch of Carrollton; and three sisters, Kaylyn Shute (Athan) of Sidon, Teryn Kent of Grenada, and Taylor Kent of Grenada.
Pallbearers will be Athan Shute, Robert Jenkins, Jakirus Shelton, Cody Cooper, Riley Cheek, Brandon Baker, and Phillip Cook.
