Thomas Key “Tommy” Reifers, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Riverview Nursing and Rehab Center in Greenwood.
He was born in Okolona, MS to Ed and Hilda Jolly Reifers. He married his childhood sweetheart, Valerie Williams, in 1955 and moved to Greenwood where he enjoyed a long career as a brick mason, a trade he learned from his father. His talent is evident when you look at all the homes he built in Greenwood. He was a communicant at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Tommy was a devoted family man who cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Granny and Papa Sunday dinners with “Papa roast” will be cherished memories. He never forgot a birthday or any other important date. He enjoyed keeping up to date with everything going on in each family member’s lives. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Valerie, his brothers William, Joe and Raymond, his daughter in law Francis Reifers and his son in law Chuck Stinson.
He is survived by his children Bridget Barner (Mike) of Greenwood, Key Reifers (Debbie) of Leland, Adam Reifers of Greenwood, Jay Reifers of San Antonio, TX, Regina Stinson of Madison, his 11 grandchildren, Kristin Zapien (Javier) of Richmond Hill, GA, Lauren Smith (Daniel) of Minter City, Chris Reifers of Germantown, TN, Grant Reifers (Carrie) of Leland , Jacob Reifers (Holly) of Collierville, TN, Mitch Reifers(Kathryn) of Madison, Casey Reifers of Madison, Gabe Reifers of Hattiesburg, Claire Stinson of Madison, Emily Stinson of Madison, Molly Stinson of Madison and 14 great grandchildren.
