Sue McDaniel

Martha Sue McDaniel, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Greenwood.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Dr. Randy Clayton officiating.  Interment is in Odd Fellows East Cemetery.  Visitation is from 10-11 A.M. Monday prior to the service.

Mrs. McDaniel was born to Robert Lee and Verna Marie Ward Simpson inWalnut Ridge, AR and raised in Blytheville, AR.    She had been a resident of Greenwood for over fifty years. Sue worked as the cafeteria manager at Bankston Elementary School, as a receptionist at Regions Bank and an office assistant for Edward Jones Investments.  She enjoyed gardening, aerobics and spending time with her church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Ray McDaniel and a daughter, Donna Jo Williams Smith.  Survivors include two sons, Mike W. Williams (Debra) and Jamie H. Williams (Stacy) both of Greenwood; a daughter, Karen Williams Makamson of Germantown, TN; ten grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Smith, Taylor Williams, Adam Robinson, Kelly Boyette, Chance Meredith, Brett Goss, and Michael Musgjerd.  Honorary pallbearers are Bill Henderson and Rob Spiller.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
