Stella Corley Wier, 92 passed away early Sunday morning December 15, 2025, at Golden Age Nursing Home with her family by her side. Graveside services are 2 P.M. Wednesday, December 18 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton with Rev. David Wier officiating. Visitation is from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home
Stella was born to Thomas “Dick” and Tess Slocum Corley in Carroll County. She moved to Phillipston at an early age, graduated from Morgan City High School and moved to Money after her marriage to Rufus Wier. There they farmed and raised their family. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. After retirement she worked at Twin Rivers for a number of years. She was an Expert Baker specializing in cakes. Her hobbies include fishing, growing flowers and baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rufus Wier and seven siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Gwen Toomey (Don) of Greenwood, Candy Lloyd (Bill) of Olive Branch; four grandchildren, Jennifer Roden (Russ) of Greenwood, Robert Toomey (Katie) of Greenwood, Brad Lloyd of Olive Branch, Laurie Lloyd of Olive Branch and five great-grandchildren, William Roden, Sam Roden, Tanner Toomey, Duke Toomey and Piper Toomey
The family wishes to offer a special word of thanks to the staff of Golden Age Nursing Home and to Grace Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Stella.
Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Food Pantry, Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or the charity of donor’s choice.
