Shirley (Driskill) Watts

Shirley D. Watts, 76, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2020 at Riverview Nursing Home in Greenwood.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Shirley was born in Eudora, Arkansas to John and Alice Driskill, graduated from Whitehall High School in Arkansas and Alverson Draughn Business College in Birmingham.  After her marriage to Earl Junior Watts they made their home to West Helena where they raised their family and she worked in the business office at the Helena Regional Medical Center.  After her retirement, they moved to Greenwood to be near her daughter, Karen.  She started a second career with Goldberg’s where she enjoyed helping in the family business until her health failed.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Noah, whom she adored.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Junior Watts and her parents.  Shirley is survived by her daughter, Karen Watts (Lisa) of Greenwood, MS; Two sisters, Donna Yarber (Jess) of Red Field, AR and Elizabeth Bridges of Farmerville, LA; a brother, Charles Driskill (Kathy) of Whitehall, AR; a very special sister-in-law, Joyce Summerhill of Wynne, AR: and a grandson, Noah Watts of Greenwood.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
