On July 6, 2024, Angels in Heaven welcomed with open arms a very precious lady Shirley Goss Carpenter. She left this world surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 9, at the North Park Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Tim Winters and Bro. Robbie Wier officiating. Interment is in Odd Fellows East Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30-11 Prior to the service at the church.
Shirley was loved by many. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley loved spending time with family and friends. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
Shirley worked at Hickok/Supreme Electronics for 43 years and retired in 2002. She had so many friends while working at Supreme and loved them all. She loved cooking and hosting people in her home to enjoy food, fellowship and much laughter.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her father Reverend C.T. Goss, Sr. and her mother Ethel Goss, four brothers Robert Goss, Willis Goss, J.M. Goss, C.T. Goss, Jr. and one sister Virginia Nell Bailey.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, James, one daughter Brenda Carpenter of Greenwood and one son Scott Carpenter (Patty) of Olive Branch, MS and two grandchildren Sara Eason (John) of Olive Branch, MS and JP Carpenter ( Rachael ) of Memphis , TN and lots of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clay Goss, Byron O’Bryant, John Williamson, Darrell Bailey, Glenn Carpenter, Johnathan Jones, David Wier, Jay Martin
Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Wier, Garry Case, David Bailey and the Men of the North Park Church
The Family would like to thank all the hospice workers from VitalCaring who cared for Mom. They did wonderful work and Mom loved them dearly.
Memorials may be made to the North Park Church of God of Prophecy where She was a faithful church member for many years.
