Shannon Heath Covington

Shannon Heath Covington, 52, passed away August 2, 2023, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Shannon was born and raised in Greenwood, MS, graduated from Greenwood High School and entered the US Army.  After faithfully serving his Country, he returned home and completed his education at Delta State University.  He worked for Scott Petroleum where he was responsible for designing and maintaining the computer infrastructure for the company.  He later worked in Jackson at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. His hobbies included deer hunting and learning about history.

He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Kinley Covington of Carrollton; 3 sisters, Dana Carol Smith (Jim) of St. Louis, MO, Donna Taylor (Melissa) of Augusta, GA, Alisha C. Cannon (Neil) of Teoc; his Aunt, Sharian Ainsworth of Pascagoula; and cousins Cail Ainsworth of Greenwood and Latham Roberts of Teoc.

Memorials May be made to Wounded Warriors Project.

The family will be conducting a private memorial service.
