Sarah O. Riley, 84, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at her home in Greenwood. A graveside service will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, July 8 at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Dustin Long will officiate.
Sarah was born in Greenwood to Thomas Earl and Merlene O’Neal Overstreet. She grew up in Greenwood, graduated from Greenwood High School and went to work for Bell South now AT&T. She began as a switchboard operator and retired in the engineering department. After retirement she worked at Immanuel Baptist Church as the church secretary and was also a member of Immanuel. She enjoyed cooking and raising flowers.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Wylder Ray Riley, parents and her brother William Earl Overstreet. She is survived by two sons; Steve Riley (Pam) of Carrollton, sister in law, Virgie Overstreet of Greenwood, MS, and John Mark Riley of Greenwood, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Williams, William Overstreet, Reese Overstreet, Miles Overstreet, Larry Wayne Kelly, Jr., Taylor DeLoach, Dalton DeLoach, and Anthony Gammill.
The family wishes to offer a special word of thanks to Shelia McNeal for her care and devotion to Mrs. Riley.
