Robert L. Tanksley, 66, of Carrollton, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the University of MS Medical Center in Grenada. Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, from 5-7 P.M. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home. Another Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 12-2 P.M. with a Funeral services to follow at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Bush officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows East Cemetery.
Robert was raised in Phillipston where he attended the Phillipston Baptist Church and was a 1974 graduate from Greenwood High School. He worked for the McCormick Tobacco Company in many capacities for 27 years. Robert enjoyed Camping, exploring on the internet, trying all types of new foods but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Tackett Tanksley; a daughter, Erica Tanksley Pruett (Phillip) of Greenwood; a son, Rob Tanksley, Jr. (Kristen) of Garfield, AR; three grandchildren, Taylor Nicole Pruett, MacKenzie Grace Pruett, both of Greenwood and Maci Layne Tanksley of Garfield, AR; two sisters, Carolyn Bowles (Mike) of Grenada, Wanda Wiggins (Terry) of Greenwood; a brother, James Tanksley (Betty) of Seven Pines; a Brother-In-Law, T. J. Tackett (Shirley) of Cruger; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Taylor (Dwight) of Carrollton and Elloweise McNeal (Jim) of Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Tanksley, Bruce Mullen, Bryce Mullen, Jamie Taylor, Wesley McNeal, Kenny Strong and Tripp Strong. Honorary pallbearers are John Walker, Colin Lyons, Dr. Kenneth Hines and Dr. Ravi Pande.
