Robert Lee Brunson

Robert Lee Brunson, 37, passed away in Chicago, Monday, April 18, 2022, after a brief illness. Funeral services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 26 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating.  Visitation is from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M.  prior to the service.

Lee was born and raised in Greenwood.  He graduated from Pillow Academy, attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, received his Bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss, and his Master’s degree from George Washington University.  He had lived in Washington D.C and Boston, MA prior to moving to Chicago two years ago. In Chicago he worked as a Budget Financial Analyst at the University of Chicago Medical Center.  He enjoyed welcoming his family and friends to Chicago and showing them sights and entertainment that the city has to offer.  In his spare time he enjoyed working out and hiking.

Lee is survived by his mother, Melanie McCaleb Brunson of Greenwood; his father and Step-Mother, Billy and Cheryl Brunson of Greenwood; his brother, Will Brunson (Lindsey) of Jackson; his maternal grandmother, Shirley McCaleb of Greenwood; his paternal grandmother, Elouise Brunson of Avalon; a niece, Perry Brunson of Jackson; a nephew, Cal Brunson of Jackson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital in Memphis, Blaire E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson or the charity of donor’s choice.
