Richard M. Roberts, Sr.

Richard M. Roberts, 71, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at The University of MS Medical Center in Jackson.  Funeral services are 2 P.M. Sunday, May 23 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington.  Visitation is form 4-6 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Richard was born to Richard H. and Thelma Grantham Roberts in Lexington.  He worked for many years at Pioneer Credit as a loan consultant.  Richard loved to hunt and fish very much and enjoyed being on the lake catching crappie as much as possible. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Ratliff Roberts, whom he loved dearly.  He is survived by his son Richard M. “Chip” Roberts, Jr. and his wife Mary Grace of Little Elm, TX; a daughter, Patricia Diane Roberts of Greenwood, and two sisters; Betty Turner of Greenwood and Julie Hathcock of Lexington.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephew and cousins that he cared deeply for.

Pallbearers will be Jason Turner, Cameron Turner, Shane Turner, Peyton Turner, Robert Hammett and Anthony Grantham.  Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Wayne Arnold and Buddy Hathcock.
