Ramona (Crain) Lewis

Ramona Lewis, 69, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2023, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona, MS.  A gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life will be from 3:30-6 P.M. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Locus Benedictus in Greenwood.  

Ramona was born in Cleveland, MS to Cooper and Wessie Alford Crain. She was raised in Cleveland, moved to Itta Bena where she attended Leflore County High School and then graduated from Pillow Academy.  She graduated from Delta State University with a degree in education and spent her career as an educator, teaching in Leflore County and Greenwood City Schools.  She was a member of the “Hen” Club where they enjoyed playing cards and traveling together.

Ramona is survived by her husband of 42 years, Russell Lamar Lewis, Jr. of McCarley; two nieces, Cortney C. Tonkin and Wendy Granger;  a nephew, Hoyle Granger, Jr. all of Houston, TX, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation, 4701 Lakeland Drive, Flowood, MS  39232.
