Polly (White) Mitchell

Ruby Pauline “Polly” Mitchell, 95, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Graveside services are 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 1 in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes, MS.  James Johnson will officiate.

Polly was born to Lawrence and Leona White in Parchman, MS, moved to Clarksdale, where she grew up, and had lived in West Point and Tupelo prior to moving to Greenwood in 1971.  Here she worked for Bell South and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. 

The widow of Ernest Archie Mitchell, Polly is survived by Two daughters, Pamela Clolinger (Ronnie) of Greenwood, Sandra Davis (Billy) of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren,  Jill McDaniel (Jeremy) of Lucedale, MS, Jay Daniel Clolinger (Amy) of Petal, MS, Lee Mitchell Davis of Hattiesburg; and six great grandchildren, Jack Clolinger, Nash Clolinger, Eli Eldridge, Griffin Davis, Danica McDaniel and Ethan McDaniel.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
