Paul Tyler Staples, 71, passed away Sunday evening October 20, 2019 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital, surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 23 at North Greenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Dustin Long officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows East cemetery. Visitation is at the church from 9-11 prior to the service.
Paul was born in Leflore County to Gerald Edgar and Bonnie Mullins Staples. He had been a lifelong resident of the Greenwood area. Paul owned and operated P. T. Staples Contracting for over forty years. He was a hard worker and dedicated to the family business. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Edgar Staples, Jr.
Paul is survived by his wife; Wilma Jackson Staples, two daughters; Candi Wasilenko (Danny) of Biloxi, Bonnie Patterson (Pat) of Madison, two sons; Tyler Staples (Michaelle) and Adam Staples (Marie) both of Greenwood and 11 grandchildren; Mary Kate Wasilenko, Macy Claire Wasilenko, Natalie Patterson, Jack Patterson, Britton Staples, Ann Baxter Staples, Blakelee Staples, Hank Staples, Katherine Rose Staples, Grey Staples and Ford Staples.
Pallbearers will be; Pat Patterson, Danny Wasilenko, Trinity Long, Drew Long, Chuck Morgan, Marvin Nicholson, Jimmy Sharp, Mitchell Long, and Michael French.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
