Pamela Jean Griffis

Pamela Jean Griffis, 57, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 3, from complications from a fall.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. James Wilson Griffis.

Pamela was born on November 7, 1963, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She earned her Masters Degree in Communication from Mississippi College and used her degrees to work her way up to Public Information Director for the Office of Publications for the Florida Department of Financial Services, where she was employed at the time of her death.

Pamela is survived by her mother, Nena Doiron Griffis of Greenwood; sister, Amanda (Tom) Hardin; and nieces Allison and Ashley Hardin all of Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Greenwood, Mississippi, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Helping Shepherds of Every Color, or Leon County Humane Society.
