Nolene Campbell Roberts, 81, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Monday, March 13 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Indianola City Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30-11 Monday Prior to the service.
Nolene was born to A. C. and Marjorie Hodge Cummins in Attala County, MS. She moved to Indianola in the mid 1950’s where she was raised and finished school. She moved to the Greenwood area 1966 where she worked for the Greenwood City Schools and the Melon Patch, was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, James Edward Campbell and Marvin Lee Gibson. She is survived by her husband Walter Roberts of Greenwood; two sons, James E. Campbell, Jr. (Patti) of Greenwood, Barry Campbell (Larisa) of Grenada; a brother, Aaron C. Cummins, Jr. (Ann) of Brandon; a sister, Faye C. Burns (Sammy) of Jackson, TN; 3 grandchildren, Erin Hodges (Heath) of Greenwood, Caroline Campbell of Greenwood, Christie Austin (Roger) of Holcomb; 5 great-grandchildren, Schaefer Hodges, Beck Hodges, Adair Hodges all of Greenwood, Madison Bishop, Dalton Sheedy both of Holcomb; step- son, David Roberts (Peggy) of Richmond, KY; a step-daughter, Nikki King of Franklin, TN, and six step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Cummins, Claude Campbell, Jr., Heath Hodges, Schaefer Hodges, Joe Pettus and Ray Makamson.
Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Society.
