Noel Morgan

Noel Morgan. 90, passed away May 28, 2026, at his home in Greenwood, MS.

He was born in Sunflower, MS to Noel and Ruby W. Morgan on October 19, 1935. He graduated from Ruleville, MS High School with Honors and was a four sport letterman. Noel received a degree in AgriBusiness and Technology from Mississippi State University. While at MSU, he was a member and officer of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a cheerleader, member of the Blue Key National Honor Society, and President of the Agri-Business & Technology Club. He was an outstanding member of the Air Force ROTC serving as Group Commander. He was also a member of the Arnold Air Society and the Arnold Air Society Drill Team which participated in parades all over the state of Mississippi and at MSU home football games. Upon graduation from MSU, Noel received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force where he became a pilot. He loved flying and later received his private pilot’s license with ratings in single engine, multi-engine and instrument aircraft.

After service in the Air Force, Noel returned to Sunflower, MS, and joined his two brothers, Rex and Duke, to form Morgan Brothers Agriculture Enterprises. This farming and agri-business partnership had operations in Leflore, Sunflower, Bolivar, and Tunica Counties. During this time Noel was very active in the Sunflower County Farm Bureau serving as President; Mississippi State Alumni Association serving as County President; Board Member of the Indianola Educational Foundation; and Board Member of the Bank of Ruleville. He along with his brothers were members of the Mississippi State Development Foundation and the Bulldog Club. Noel was an ardent supporter of Mississippi State athletics and loved attending MSU home football games. One of his favorite past-times was to debate with his Ole Miss friends about which university was superior---MSU or Ole Miss.

Noel loved the outdoors. He lived in Colorado for many years and developed a love for biking, hiking, Jeeping and snow skiing. He continued his love for biking after returning to Mississippi in 2007 and influenced his wife Vicki and many others to become long distance bike riders.

 Noel was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. Previously he was a member of the Indianola United Methodist Church and was very instrumental in the formation of the Lay-Renewal Movement within the church and taught Sunday School.

 Noel is survived by his wife, Vicki Wilkey Morgan; daughters Lees Pearson (Mark) of Aspen, Colorado and Missy Hagen (Marty) of Greenwood and their mother Linda Lee Morgan; two step-children Allison Meek (McLeod) and Austin Wilkey (Heather) of Greenwood, MS; brother Duke Morgan (Jane); sister Scarlotte Pittman (Crymes); grandchildren Melba Pearson Voskamp (Caleb), Covington Pearson, and Hubert Pearson; great granddaughter Liberty Lee Voskamp; step grandchildren Deren Meek Sciara (Sam), Wilkes Meek, Mere Austin Wilkey, and Anderson Wilkey; sister-in-law Dale Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Noel and Ruby Morgan, sister LaFrances Hargett and brother-in-law Herbert Hargett; sister Tiny Oglesby, brother Rex Morgan, and sister Gaye Black.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at St John’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Butler officiating.  Visitation is from 10-11 A.M. Saturday in the Light House prior to services.

Pallbearers are Allen Morgan, Duke Morgan, Jr, Danny Hargett, Larry Moore, Bucky Kellogg, Led Poindexter, S. R. Evans. Jr., Roy Yaeger, and Bob Provine.
