On October 9, 2020 Mary Ann Hoerhammer Stanton left our world. This after eighty-eight years of enjoying life to its fullest. In Terra Haute, Indiana early family life included parents Henry Michael (Hank) and Mary Louise Hoerhammer and younger sister Helen Kay Hoerhammer Thompson. They have all preceded Mary Ann in death. Their move to Greenwood was the beginning of years of embracing the people and activities of a city that Mary Ann held dear.
Howard and Mary Ann were members of Greenwood High School’s graduating classes of 1948 and 1950, respectively. They married and began working in the highway construction family business, O. J. Stanton and Company.
Mary Ann believed the Lord is her Shepherd and HE is Sufficient. She spoke of God’s goodness and mercy as a daily reality.
Howard and Mary Ellen Stanton Martin, their youngest child, preceded Mary Ann in death. She is survived by her children, Lin (Tricia), Edi, Mark (Anita) and James, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Plans for family to gather will occur in the future.
