Mary Frances (Lauderdale) Young

Mary Frances Young, 88, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  Graveside services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, July13 at Odd Fellows East Cemetery with Rev. Scott Wright officiating.

Mary Frances was born in Booneville, MS to Samuel and Emily Lauderdale and raised in Burdette, AR.  She moved to Greenwood in 1964 and worked for many years in the motel/hotel industry.  She had attended First Baptist Church and enjoyed baking, playing cards, bowling and all sports.  She was known as “Nanny Storm” to the Greenwood Storm Baseball team.

She is survived by two sons; Harold Young (Merry Glenn) and Kevin Young (Debi) both of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Marcy Wuestenhoefer (Jason) of Greenwood, Taylor Young of Senatobia, Laurin Pruitt (Cole) of Brandon, Rhett Young (Heather) of Madison; two great grandchildren, Maddox Wuestenhoefer of Greenwood and Fields Young of Madison; a sister, Betty Payne and a niece, Susanne McDowell both of Blytheville, AR.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wuestenhoefer, Taylor Young, Rhett Young, Cole Pruitt, Knox Purnell, Chris Purnell, Derek Purnell and Brad Stallings

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Charity of donor’s choice.
