Margaret Power Smith

Margaret Power Smith, 91, formerly of Winona, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Country Meadow Personal Care Home in Greenwood.  Graveside services are 10 A.M. Monday, June 26 at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona with Rev. Gary Tanner officiating.

Margaret was born to Lloyd and Lula Power in Montgomery. County. She was raised there, graduated from Winona High School, attended Holmes Jr College in 1951 and married B. C. Smith in 1952.  She worked for 44 years as a bookkeeper for Flowers Accounting Service (Billy Flowers & Jerry Flowers). She was a member of North Winona Baptist Church and was an Eastern Star.  She was a loving mother and a friend to many.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bonner Charles Smith.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Becky and Butch Willing of Avalon; a son, Charles Bruce Smith of Greenwood and a step grandson, Kevin Willing of Tupelo.

Pallbearers will be Steven Bennett, Jerry Flowers, Wade Henson and Stanley “Sugar” Mullins.

The family wish to offer a special thank you to the owners and staff of Country Meadow and the staff of VitalCaring Hospice for their loving care of Margaret.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
