Mable C. Tedford, 75, passed away at her home in Carroll County, Monday, April 11, 2022, surrounded by her family. Graveside services are 11 A.M. Thursday, April 14 at Hillview Stone Cemetery with Rev. David Bartlett officiating.
Although born in Sunflower County, Mable grew up and lived most of her life in Carroll County. She was a charter member of Hillview Baptist Church, which held its first service on her birthday. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and assisted her husband with the duties of Church Treasurer. Mable was retired from Staplcotn where she had worked for fifteen years. She enjoyed working horses with her husband, fishing and raising cocker spaniels.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Covington and Lucille Johnson, her twin brother, Marvin Covington, Sr. and four other siblings, Wilford Covington, Wilburn Covington, Mary Loyce Evans and Wilma Browning. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Raymond Tedford; a daughter, Alisha Cannon (Neal) of Minter City; a granddaughter, Kaylyn Upchurch of Carroll County; a grandson, Tyler Kent of Carroll County; a great granddaughter, Willow Shute of Carroll County; a sister, Mary Anne Tackett (Charles) of Sidon and a special Sister-in-Law, Nola Tedford of Collinsville.
Pallbearers will be Trent Harrell, Athan Shute, Peyton Jenkins, Justin Deaton, Jordan Bartlett, Terry Bailey, and Charis McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Harrell, Ken Ricks, John Sultan, Tommy Everett and Odell Weaver.
Memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church or the charity of donor’s choice.
