Linda Sue Jones, 72, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at her home in Greenwood surrounded by her family. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, May 29 at the Greenwood Church of God with Pastor Michael Mooneyham officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 P.M. at the Church.
Linda was born and raised in Carroll County to William Glenn and Verma Mae Lee Carver, graduated from J. Z. George High School, and moved to Greenwood after her marriage to Aubrey Jones. She worked for over 35 years for Greenwood Utilities and a Billing Clerk retiring in 2004. Mrs. Jones was an active member of the Greenwood Church of God, loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Moore, a sister, LaDonna Carver and a brother, Doug Carver.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Aubrey Lee Jones; three daughters, Angela Young (Charles) of Ville Platte, LA, Stephanie Michelle Moore of Greenwood, Jennifer Lynn Meredith (Billy) of Grenada; a son, Aubrey Lee Jones, Jr. (Kelley) of Collinsville, MS; a sister, Alice Fay Carver of Greenwood; two brothers, Albert Carver (Sandy) of Blackhawk and Carlton Carver of Carrollton; seven grandchildren, Treasure McLendon of Grenada, Morgan Meredith of McCarley, Krista Whitfield of Carrollton, Brittany Bordelon of St. Landry, LA, Ronald Moore, Jr., of Greenwood, Baylee Addison Jones and Brock Crenshaw Jones of Collinsville, MS, and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Meredith, Charles Allen Young, Bryan Johnson, Kimble Winstead, Buddy Ayers and James Barrentine.
Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Church of God.
