Leroy Parrish, 82, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services are 2 P.M. Friday, April 30 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Johnston officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral Home.
Leroy was born in Webster County to Bill and Elvie Parrish. He moved to Leflore County at an early age and graduated from High School in Morgan City. He served in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. After the service he returned home where he worked as an independent carpenter. He enjoyed hunting small game and especially loved to Crappie Fish. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and a sister.
The widower of Reba Jacks Parrish, he is survived by three sons, Scottie Parrish (Jana) of Madison, Darrell Parrish (Tiffany) of Temple, TX and James Parrish (Carla) of Greenwood and one granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Parrish of Greenwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Truitt Stubbs, J.J. O’Bryant, Bubba Biggert, Brent Wilson, John Parrish and Darrell Keady.
Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
