Lana (Ferguson) Colon

Lana Ferguson Colon, 79, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Saturday, April 6, at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.  Rev. Joseph Sansing will officiate.  Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. Saturday prior to the service.

Lana was born in Cleveland to John L. and Beatrice Abel Ferguson.  She was raised there and graduated from Cleveland High School.  She had been a longtime resident of Carroll County and had worked as a bookkeeper for J.J. Ferguson for over forty years.  She loved to adopt animals, raise flowers, and spend time at the casino.

Lana is survived by her husband of 53 years, Felip Colon; a daughter, Suzanne Moore of Carrollton; a son, Roger Bright (Laurie) of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Justin Bright (Anne) of Greenwood, Samantha Moore of Greenwood, Ernie Moore, Jr. of Lebanon, MO, and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Thornhill, Bryan Thornhill, Al Holliday, Justin Bright, Sammy Overley, Van Rodgers, Joey Whitfield, Ernie Moore, Jr. and Randy Moss.

Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Shelter.
