Keith R. Peeples

Keith Randle Peeples, 71, of Carrollton, MS passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, MS.  Funeral services are 11 A.M. Thursday, February 6 at Malmaison Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation is from 9:30-11 prior to the service. 

Keith was born in Greenwood, MS to Floyd Wesley and Francis Cummings Peeples. He graduated from Greenwood High School and served in the United States Army for four years. Upon returning home from the service he worked for the Tallazoo Ambulance Service, moved to the  Greenwood Police Department, then the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department. He later retired from The Department of Correction in Greenwood as a Parole Officer and later returned as part-time animal control officer.

Upon retiring, Keith embraced the joys of life with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that meant the most to him. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing and he was an avid bowler. He enjoyed entering bowling tournaments with his son and friends. Keith's passion extended beyond bowling; he also took great pride in coaching his grandchildren in baseball during their younger years.  Keith was a member of the Malmaison Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a deacon and sang in the church choir.

Keith was preceded in death by his first wife, Janell Peeples, his parents and a stepdaughter Michelle Potts.  He is survived by wife, Betty Peeples of Carrollton; a son Deney Peeples (Stephanie) of Villa Rica, GA; two daughters  Riann Ragland (Dusty) of Winona, MS, Fran Cook (Brad) of North Carrollton, MS; a step-daughter, Melisa Underwood of Carrollton, MS;  two sisters, Karen McKeller (John) of McEwen, TN, Cindy Garner (Cary) of Walker, LA; grandchildren, Jason Peeples, Dylan Peeples, and Logan Peeples of GA, Aden Whatley, Makenzie Ragland and Ledger Ragland of MS, Emma Cook and Eliza Cook of MS; great-grandchildren, Brayden Clark, Charlie Peeples, Easton Peeples, Kainan Peeples, Maddox Peeples, Holland Peeples, Mila Peeples, Koda Peeples all of GA and Beckham Vest of MS; several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

The Pallbearers will be grandsons, Aden Whatley, Jason Peeples, Dylan Peeples, Logan Peeples, Ledger Ragland and Brayden Clark.  His great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials maybe be made to the Greenwood Leflore Humane Society, the American Breast Cancer Society or the charity of donor’s choice.
