June Marie Jennings Melton
Born July 9, 1931, June Jennings Melton died peacefully at home on June 19th, 2025, at the age of 93. She was the daughter of Thomas Arthur and Opal Tabb Jennings of the Walnut Community near Vance, MS.
Growing up, June was a member of the Walnut Baptist Church and later a member of the Brazil Baptist Church.
She graduated from Walnut High School as Salutatorian of her senior class of 1949.
On May 20, 1949, she married Frank Lawson Melton of Brazil, MS, where they made their home on the family farm and raised four children.
June is survived by her children, Vicki (Roy) Yaeger, Nanette (Roger) Worsham, Melanie (Bert) Wolfe and Frank (Elizabeth) Melton, seven grandchildren; Van (Jennifer) Wolfe, Kris Lawson (Mae) Wolfe, Art (Melissa) Wolfe, Will Worsham, Melton (Linda) Worsham, Drew (Micci) Worsham and Victoria Melton, fourteen great- grandchildren and one sister, Carol (Charles) Hill.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, Frank L., she was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Jennings, seven siblings and a daughter.
She took great pride in being a grandmother and great grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A private family service will be held to celebrate her life at a later date.
