Juanita Taylor Obituary

Juanita Fisher Taylor, 93, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in her big bed, at her home in Greenwood with her son, David, by her side.  Graveside services are 3 P.M. Sunday, February 6 at Pinecrest Cemetery near Tchula.  Dr. Jim Phillips will officiate.  Visitation is Sunday from 1-2 P.M. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home.

Juanita was born to Ben and Minnie Fisher in Coila, MS December 14th 1928. She graduated from Vaiden High School in 1947. After high school she moved to Greenwood MS. One of her first jobs was at Fountains Depart Store, working in the men's area. She left Fountains and began a 35 year career with South Central Bell, first as a telephone operator, then eventually working as a dispatcher, the job position she held, when she retired from Bell South.

She was a member of First Methodist Church and eventually North Greenwood Baptist Church, when she married Hugh Taylor, and the Telephone Pioneers. She loved to cook and absolutely adored roses, other beautiful flower and plants and she loved a Coke every day. She loved little flash lights and had a few she just liked shinning around the room as she sat in her reclining chair or in her bed at night. As testified by Bobby Knox she made the best milk shake he ever had.

But of very high importance to her was God and her faith and her family. She believed in Jesus (The promised Messiah) for God's free gift of Eternal life, a promised given to people by God, as John 6:47 states.  Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. Which now she is really enjoying  free of sin, pain free and able to hear (without hearing aids)

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hugh M. Taylor.  She is survived by her loving son, David Taylor of Greenwood and several nieces and nephews Sammy Hobart, Sandy Gresham and Lee Fisher, Lynne Vaught and Lydia Specht.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Hobart, Bobby Knox, Bruce Gresham, Tim Taylor, and Aubrey Aden.

Greenwood Delta Funeral Home (www.greenwooddeltafh.com) is in charge of arrangements.
