Joyce Staten Williamson, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 16th at the Greenwood Delta Funeral Home chapel with interment in Odd Fellows East Cemetery. Bro Tim Winters will officiate the service. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 5-7 at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Joyce was born in Paynes, MS to James Andrew and Lera Brunson Staten on February 12, 1943. Joyce spent many years working in the accounting field. During the early years she worked with S P Bailey Accounting firm, Ricks’ Motor Service and Barrett Hodges Drugs. Her latter years she has been the dedicated bookkeeper for Greenwood Downtown Drugs. Joyce was a score keeper and a huge support to her umpire husband at the Greenwood softball church league for many years.
Joyce was loved by her family, co-workers, friends, and church family. She loved her family, friends, church family and her Lord and Savior very much.
She was preceded in death by husband of 53 years, John Harold Williamson, her parents, a brother James Wade Staten and a sister Evelyn Staten.
She is survived by two sons, John Harold Williamson, Jr., of Abbevlle, LA, James Anthony Williamson (Kim), of Richland, MS; a daughter, Lee Ann Martin (Jay) of Rolling Fork, MS; a sister, Josephine Staten Goss, of Greenwood, MS; six beautiful granddaughters, Alex Williamson, Laney Williamson, Katy Ann (Ben) Dodd, Haley Williamson, Makenzie (Conner) Reid, Mary Grayson Martin, and a great granddaughter Meri Rayburn Reid.
Pallbearers will be Steven Appel, Christopher Reeves, Madison Minga, Clay McCoy, Tracey Thompson, Matt Ricks, Ben Dodd and Glenn Carpenter.
Memorials may be made tp the North Park Church of God of Prophecy, where Joyce had been a faithful member for over sixty years.
