Joe David Gibson

Joe David Gibson, 70, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the University of MS Medical Center in Grenada.  Funeral services are 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 4 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Collin Montgomery officiating.  Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation is from 9-11 A.M. Thursday prior to the service.

Joe was born April 7th, 1955 in Greenwood to Rayford Gibson and Betty Joyce Gibson Leone.  He grew up in Greenwood then moved to Texas and returned to make Mississippi his home in 2002.  He  worked for Kirk Ford in Grenada as the body shop manager.  He loved spending time outdoors fishing, working on his farm and spending time with his family.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenwood.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Candi Johnson, a Great Grandchild, Koda Blaze Page and a brother, James Gibson.  He is survived by his wife, Cathy Casiday Gibson; daughters, April Petty (Scotty), Cyndi Wallace (David), Kelly Dodd (Derek); son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Amy Johnson; a sister, Melinda Ansley (David), grandchildren, Ty Johnson (Hannah), Luke Johnson (Katie), Emma Wallace, Neely Dodd, Ella Wallace, Nash Dodd, Eli Wallace, Dakota Page, Destiny Petty and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Johnson, Derek Dodd, David Wallace, Luke Johnson, Nash Dodd, and Eli Wallace.  Honorary pallbearers are Marcus Dees and Troy Ansley.

Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
