Jimmy Everett, SR Obituary

Jimmy Ray Everett, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home in Carroll County surrounded by his family.  Funeral services are 2 P.M. Friday, January 31 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery.  Rev. Terry Corley will officiate.  Visitation is from noon till 2 P.M prior to the service.

Jimmy was born in Money, MS to James Henry and Flora Day Everett.  He grew up in Money and also Greenwood.  He farmed, owned and operated Everett’s Grocery, was a mechanic for Delta Chevrolet the local Ford dealership but most of his working career was a Crane operator for Transocean where he retired after 35 years.  He was preceded in death by the “love of his life” Audine Ainsworth Everett, his parents, and two brothers, James Troy Everett and Kenny Michael Everett.

Jimmy Ray is survived by two daughters, Becky Mitchell (Mike Thomas) of Black Hawk and Taylor Everett Williams (Jordan) of Cleveland; two sons, Stephen Everett of Black Hawk and Jimmy Ray Everett, Jr. (Eden) of West Columbia, SC;  three sisters, Earline Smith of Money, Irene Ferguson of Holcomb, Jenell Lishman of Avalon;  Grandchildren, Jennifer Bruce (Jeff) of Greenwood, Brandi Gregory of Chicago, IL., Ashley Everett (Marty Baker) of Greenwood, Stephanie Ivey (Clint) of Carrollton, Stephen Ray Everett, Jr. (Jess) of St. Louis, MO, Santana Everett, Ryder Everett, and Presley Everett of West Columbia, SC. Great-Grandchildren, Mackenzie Ainsworth of Carrollton, Weston Baker of Greenwood, Anne Hays Everett of Tupelo, Ainslie Blair Bruce of Greenwood, Ella Ray Everett of Tupelo, Emalie Bruce of Greenwood, Cohen Acy of Grenada, and Navy Caroline Baker.

Pallbearers will be James Ferguson, Jr., David Earl Ferguson, Donnie Sudduth, Ronnie Cheek, David Cheek and David Holliman.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Harmon, Allen Weaver, Ricky Burrell, Jack Burrell, Dr. Tapryal, third floor Nursing staff of UMMC Grenada, Dr. Harper, the & late Dr. Michael Boler.

Memorials may be made to Coila Baptist Church or the charity of donor’s choice.
