Jerry Gardner Taylor

Jerry Gardner Taylor, 87, of Itta Bena, MS passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, 11:00 AM at West President Church of Christ in Greenwood, MS.

Jerry was born on December 1, 1937 in Itta Bena, MS to Alma and William Everett Taylor. He was an avid Mississippi State fan, through the good times and the not-so-good times. Jerry was also a master jewelry craftsman. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling in a motor home with his wife, Erma.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory is his wife, Erma Strain Taylor of Olive Branch; daughter, Laura Reed (John) of Olive Branch; son, Jay Taylor (Laura) of Itta Bena; granddaughter, Kathleen Massey (Drew) of Olive Branch; grandson, Taylor Reed (Nichole) of Southaven, MS; great-granddaughter, Emery Reed of Southaven; and sister, Rachel Taylor of Senatobia, MS; 

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Gardner Taylor; father, William Everett Taylor; and sister, Tootsie Burgoon.
