William James “Jamie” Brewster, 82, passed away Friday evening, Sept 2, 2022 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, TN. Graveside services are 1 P.M. Tuesday, September 6 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton with Dr. Jeff Floyd officiating.
Jamie was born in Columbus and moved to Greenwood at an early age. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years and later retired from Greenwood Utilities after 30 years of loyal service in the water department. After retiring he moved to McCarley where he has since resided. He enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jamie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geraldine Minyard Brewster; a daughter, Janice Floyd (David) of McCarley; a son, Dayne Brewster (Lisa) of Grenada; two grandchildren, Emily Simpson (Matt) of Fort Sill, OK, Jamie Dugar (Ethan) of McCarley; and four great grandchildren, Aiden Simpson and Connor Simpson both of Fort Sill, OK, Amelia Dugar and William Dugar both of McCarley.
Pallbearers are Matthew Simpson, Ethan Dugar, Aiden Simpson, Connor Simpson, William Dugar, Bobby Floyd and Tony Dunn. Honorary pallbearers are Greenwood Utilities employees.
