James Franklin Heath, 76, passed away suddenly at his home in Greenwood, Sunday, September 15, 2024. Visitation will be 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. service will follow at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 19, at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Clark officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 9-11 Thursday prior to the service.
James was born in Greenwood to James Edgar and Mavis Sims Heath. He had lived in Oklahoma and Georgia but lived most of his life in Greenwood. He was a carpenter and painter who mostly worked for Lan Fratesi and Wade Campbell. He was a Christian and attended the Baptist church. James enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and was an animal lover that fed any animal that came to the house. James was also a great caregiver for his mother before her passing.
He is survived by two sister, Mavis Cosper, Connie Sebro (Pat); a brother, Roy Heath (Betty) all of Greenwood; his nephews, Davis Cosper of Greenwood, Timothy Heath (Barbi) of Riverside, CA; a niece, Leslie Wiley (Royce) of Greenwood; two great nieces, Aliyah Tankesly of Greenwood, Elena Heath of Riverside, CA and a great nephew, Tyler Tankesly of Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be J. P. Phillips, Tyler Tankesly, David Jenkins, Royce Wiley, Jackie Sims, Randy Martin and Teddy Sims. Honorary pallbearers are David Cosper and Roy Health.
Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Society, 1810 Cypress Ave., Greenwood, MS 38930, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of donor’s choice.
