Mr. James Troy Everett, 79, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home near Money, MS. Funeral services are 11 A.M. Thursday, November 8 at North Greenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Lanny Haley officiating. Visitation is from 9:30 until service time in the church parlor. A private family interment will be in the Everett Family Cemetery.
Troy was born in Greenwood to James Henry and Flora Day Everett. He was a lifelong resident of the Money area and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He drove a truck for many years for Butane Gas and later for Scott Petroleum. Troy loved to garden, hunt and play dominos.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Troy Everett, Jr. and his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ellen Joyce Moss Everett, four daughters, Brenda McCoun (Carroll) of Enid, MS, Nancy “Tina” Carr (Greg) of Sunnyside, Penny Lynn Kesterson (Wayne) of Money, Peggy Jeffords (George) of Money, three sisters, Nell Lishman (Jack) of Leflore, Earline Tingle (Morris) of Holcomb, Irene Ferguson of Holcomb, two brothers, Jimmy Ray Everett (Audine) of Teoc, Kenny Everett (Patricia) of Teoc, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gardner, George Jeffords, Jr., Scott Smith, David Kesterson, Wayne Kesterson, Greg Carr, Andrew Utz and Mark Childers. Honorary pallbearers are Sonny Berry, Jessie Chism Everett and James Kendall.
