James Carrol Bassie, Sr.

James Carroll Bassie, Sr., 69 died Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his home near Greenwood.

Mr. Bassie was retired as comptroller for S & N Sprayer Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing garden vegetables and was devoted to country life.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Delta State University.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda White Bassie, a son, Jamie Bassie, two daughters, Mauri Logan and her husband, Beau and Lea Denton and her husband Robby, a mother-in-law, Evelyn White, four grandsons, Hunter Walker, Gage Walker, Luke Logan and Trevor Bassie, a granddaughter, Carley Bassie and a great-grandson, Nate Walker, all of Greenwood, and a brother, Ken Bassie of Leland.

Services will be private.  The family has requested memorials be sent to a charity of choice or the Leflore County Cancer Society.
