Glenn Miller Obituary

Glenn Dexter Miller, 77, passed peacefully on Sept. 25, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a long battle with cancer.

Glenn was a lifelong resident of Cruger. He was born to Annie and Leslie “Bud” Miller on Aug. 12, 1947. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he instilled his love and knowledge of hunting and fishing in his family members, especially his sons.

He was the owner and operator of Glenn Miller Construction until his passing. He was a master builder with an artistic ability to take the ordinary and create something amazing. Although he built many things, he was most passionate about woodwork.

He loved to spend time with his other half, Beth, who loved him dearly. When they were together, there was never a dull moment. He was an incredible host and storyteller who loved to bring friends and family together in large gatherings. He was a man who was as tough as nails, with a heart of gold and a work ethic that can be matched by no man. He always said, “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie Aline and Leslie “Bud” Miller; a son, Michael Glenn Miller; and a brother-in-law, Willie Frank “Chip” Waterer Jr. He is survived by his other half, Beth Allison; his sons, Thad Brian Miller (Angela), Todd William Miller (Rebecca) and Hunter Miller; two siblings, Leslie Gene Miller (Deb) and Debbie Waterer; six grandchildren, Wesley Miller (Ashley), Sarah Beth Miller, Bryce Miller, Anny Kate Miller, Mary Todd Miller and John Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Glenn Carpenter, William Thad Miller and Jackson Miller.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Miller Memorial Family Cemetery.
