George Baglan

George Weber Baglan, 70, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at University of MS Medical Center in Grenada with his family by his side. Services are 3 P.M. Thursday December 12, 2024 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Phillips officiating. Visitation is from 1-3 prior to the service.

George was the son of the late Charles Enos Baglan and Mary Eunice Smith Baglan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother; Charles E Baglan and sisters; Patricia Ann Willis, Mary Eunice Neivens, Rita Elizabeth Clark and Teresa Lynn Swan. He is survived by his two daughters, Mary Catherine Burgess (Dustin) of Greenwood, Carli Pruett (Aaron) of Holcomb; grandchildren, Logan Moore, Landon Burgess, Courtney Myers all of Greenwood, Colton Pruett of Holcomb; two sisters Debbie Sinnett (J.T.) of Duluth, GA, Lottie Bonhomme (Pascal) of New York, NY and a sister-in-law, Mary Katherine Baglan of Courtland, MS.

George was raised in Greenwood where he graduated from Greenwood High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Delta State University. He began working at the family business known as Likker Legger Package Store in 1966. He later took over as owner and continued to operate the store until October of 2024 when he sold the business.

Even though George spent most of his days in the liquor store, he had a passion for riding his motorcycles and being with his motorcycle brothers. He was a member of the Delta Riders Brotherhood RC where he served as Vice President. George’s outlook on life was always positive. Even on his toughest days, when he was asked how he was doing his iconic response was always “just another day in paradise”. His love for his family and friends and his unwavering spirit will always be remembered.
