Emilie Wynne Hodges Martin, 46, of Belden died in a single car accident on Sunday, February 25, 2024. A memorial service will be held for Emilie on Thursday, February 29 at Belden Baptist Church at 6 p.m. On Friday, March 1, visitation will be held at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home beginning at 12 with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Rev. Aubry Martin will officiate. Interment will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Morgan City immediately following the service.
Emilie was a native of Morgan City, and she lived in Richland before moving to Belden seven years ago. Emilie held multiple degrees, both of which she achieved from Mississippi College. She was a dedicated dyslexia therapist and worked at Regional Rehabilitation Center. As a travel enthusiast, Emilie was always planning a family vacation or a girl’s trip. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church.
Emilie is preceded in death by her father, David L. Hodges, Sr. of Morgan City. She leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Jarrett; their two children, Elizabeth and Alex Martin both of Belden; her mother, Anita Henderson Hodges of Flowood; her grandmother Doris H. Justice of Northport AL, two brothers, David L. Hodges, Jr. (Melanie) of Morgan City, Scott Hodges (Shea) of Union, and her twin sister, Carrie Hodges Barefoot (Cliff) of Florence as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Emilie also leaves behind many friends and coworkers whom she loved throughout her lifetime.
Pallbearers will be nephews Ryan Hodges, Will Hodges, Tyler Hodges, Grayson Barefoot, Oliver Barefoot, and Josh Bridges. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Aldridge and Ron Henderson.
