Mrs. Ellene Little Ferguson, 92, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Starkville. Funeral services are 1 P.M. Thursday, November 18 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Gossett, Rev. Glenn Seefeld and Rev. Eddy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Carroll County. Visitation is from noon till service time in the church sanctuary.
Ellene was born to Boyce and Effie Little and had been a long time resident of Greenwood prior to moving to Starkville in 2019. While in Greenwood she worked for many years at Norris Book Binding and also as a shop keeper for the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon. She enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers, shopping, traveling, reading cook books and preparing delicious meals for her family. She was also an avid MSU Bulldog Fan! She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William F. “Baty” Ferguson; a daughter, Janice Lynn Ferguson; four sisters, Marie Clolinger, Susie Martin, Edna Ricks and her twin Geraldine Arrington and a Brother “Doc” Little. She is survived by her daughter Joan Hamilton of Starkville; granddaughter, Chrissi Papworth (Tom) of Huntsville, AL; grandson, Whit Hamilton of Nashville; brother, Frank David Little (Carolyn) of Brandon, MS and two great- grandchildren, Will Papworth and Natalie Papworth both of Huntsville, AL.
Pallbearers will be Dee Taylor, Scott Tribble, Cody Jones, Rob Grones, Dennis Jones and Anthony Frank, Dr. Michael Boler is an honorary pallbearer.
The family wishes to thank the ladies who lovingly cared for her, Ladonna Rand, Sharon Prophett, Mary Nolly, Julia Rogers, Vanessa Rogers and Liz Purnell.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of donor’s choice.
