Donald Lloyd Pruett

Donald Lloyd Pruett, 80, passed away Monday, August 12, 2025, at Riverview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood.

Donald was the son of the late Aaron Pruett and Viola Lishman Pruett. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie Lee. Pruett, Kenneth Winfred Pruett, Aaron B. Pruett, Jr. and Phillip Stanley Pruett; sisters, Betty Porter, Brenda Armstrong, and Barbara Hill. He is survived by his son Aaron Woods Pruett (Carli) of Holcomb; grandson, Aaron Colton Pruett of Holcomb; and sister Helen Haskins of Missouri.

After graduating from Greenwood High School, he went on to play baseball for Mississippi State University where he received a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Donald retired from teaching at Greenwood High School.

Donald had a love for the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his friends.

 The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Riverview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and VitalCaring Hospice for their compassionate care of Donald Pruett.

 A private family service will be held to celebrate his life at a later date.
