Deanna Day, 60, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at her home in Schlater. Services are 2 P.M. Friday, April 7 at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in McNutt Cemetery. Rev. Butch Kelly will officiate. Visitation is from noon until service time Friday
Deanna was born to Thomas M. and Barbara Blakely Day. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She had lived in Georgia and Arkansas prior to returning to the Greenwood area. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Deanna is survived by her Daughter, Amanda Wier (Brad) of Schlater; a grandson, Hunter Wier of Schlater; a sister Kim Hodges of Greenwood and a nephew, Jeffrey Hodges of Jackson, Ms.
Pallbearers are Logan Nicholson, Henry Pratt, Caleb Reynolds, Ashton Harris, Jeffery Hodges and Gage Gordan. Hunter Wier and Wade Lindsey will be an honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to offer a special word of thanks to Dr. Syed Rafique and Kara McKay-White. Also Teresa and Mary with Adoration Hospice, and a very special word of thanks to Sherry and Madison for their loving care to Deanna during her illness.
Memorials may be made to the Leflore County Humane Shelter, The American Cancer society or the charity of donor’s choice.
