Cole was born June 27, 1998 to Joey and Stacy Foster Whitfield. He was a 2017 graduate of Pillow Academy where he was a star athlete in soccer, football and baseball. He received the Louis Coleman award in Baseball which was always Cole’s love. He not only played at Pillow but also for many travel teams as well, with other athletes that became family. He went on to play at Hinds Community College for 2 years before transferring to MS Delta CC. A strategic player, Cole, shared his knowledge of the game and his soft spoken encouragement to not only teammates but most importantly to his nephews. He spent countless hours teaching them on and off the field. Cole had many passions and pastimes of every “Delta Boy”: hunting, fishing and hard work. He will always be most remembered for his love of the game, his family and his boys.
Cole is survived by his parents; Stacy and Joey Whitfield; his two sisters, Holly Whitfield and Grace Jefcoat (Will); nephews, Wood and Crawford Jefcoat, all of Greenwood; His Aunt, Susan Gray (Charlie) of Cummings, GA and three Uncles; Mike Whitfield (Anne) of Winona, Ronnie Whitfield of Goodman and Kenny Foster of Stringer, MS.
Memorials may be made to Pillow Academy Baseball or the Hull Foundation, 317 CR 352, Greenwood, MS 38930.
